Our dream is fulfilled the Red Devils ended the season the way we started. We took on all opponents as a team and we won the STATE TITLE as a TEAM. We won the 4x100 and 4x200 with Monique Bronowicki, Chelsea Celistan, Kayla Schwarz, and Lauren Roush. The 4x400 of Kayla Schwarz, Monique Bronowicki, Lauren Roush, and Stephanie Green had an interesting race which initially looked to place them in 1st but ultimately led to a 7th place finish and wrapped up our 1st STATE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. The 4x1 time is the 7th fastest of all time in the IHSA, and a new class 3A record, while the 4x2 time is the 2nd fastest of all time and a new class 3A record. These were of course new school records. Jill Hardies ran a great race getting 3rd in 3200 in a school record. Jesse Vardas was 3rd in the Pole Vault. Adebelle Ekechukwu was 4th in the Shot Put. Stephanie Green was 7th in the 400. Chelsea was 9th in the 100th, while Lauren was 9th in the 200. Other qualiers who didn’t advance to the finals but certainly helped the TEAM win were Paris Bates in the 100HH, Katie Kummerer, in the 1600, the 4x800 of Grace Hucek, Katie K, Rita Kuckertz, and Graylin Harrison, pole vaulter Leah Tarabour.
Along the way the Devils dominated the West Suburban Conference on both levels, which bodes well for the future.
They went into the Sectional meet and dominated there and showed the state they were ready.
We now say good bye to some great kids too numerous to mention here. You have given us so much thank you.
