
The Red Devils competed Saturday against Wheaton, New Trier, and Westinghouse and were victorious on both levels. On the sophomore level several athletes achieved season best performances.
Maggie Wood , Lily Soros and Kate McElherne went 1-3 in the 300. In the 55HH Cara Tenerelli and Emily Byczek ran nearly identical times going 1-2. In the 55m Dash Laura Culler and Marissa Bronowicki went 1-2. Laura Culler, Marissa Bronowicki, Lauren Paul, and Cara Tenerelli won the 4 x 160m Relay. Allison Shaner won the 1600. Culler, Bronowicki, Paul, Layne McCabe, and Tenerelli went 1-5 in the 200. HC won the 4 x 400. Emma Harrison, Lucy Orton, Simi Akintorin, and Annie Zircher swept the long jump. Coco Bergdall and Julie Kanter went 1-2 in the triple jump. Orton won the high jump. Liz Dusky and Kelly Adams went 1-2 in the Shot.
On the varsity level several athletes stepped up in the absence of a few of their teammates. Kayla Schwartz won the 300. Chelsea Celistan won the 55. Rita Kuckertz won the 800 and Stephanie won the 400. Jill Hardies won the 1600. Lauren Roush and Chelsea Celistan went 1-2 in the 200. Meghan McDowell won the Long, Triple, and High Jumps. Jessie Vardas won the pole vault.
Our next meet is the indoor Devilette. The competition will be HOT. Div. 3A power Evanston as well as Div. 2A power Glenbard South, Argo Grayslake North will be there and we look to run some of the best times around. See you there.
